If Bloc MPs aren’t busy trying to set up a seperatist-coalition with the Liberals to seize power they’re busy sending out emails supporting terrorists. At least that’s the word coming out of Quebec where the media is reporting Maria Mourani, the Bloc Quebecois MP for Ahuntsic, sent an email to all sitting MPs that include videos that praise Hamas and its actions against Israel and condemn Fatah for trying to establish a peaceful settlement.
In fact, all the groups praised in the video Maria Mourani sent out - Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade – are actually on the Department of Public Safety terrorist organization list.
According to Cyberpress.ca (original article in French):
On another video, politicians Fatah (the party founded by Yasser Arafat) are called traitors and low, with reference to the Annapolis Conference in 2007, which aimed to find a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Mahmoud Abbas, the current president of the Palestinian Authority, is showed in the company of American and Israeli leaders.
It certainly looks like Bloc MP Maria Mourani approves of the terrorist actions of Hamas et al. It would also appear that she doesn’t appreciate Fatah’s attempts at finding a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The Bloc attempted to “distance” itself from the email, with foreign affairs critic Paul Crete saying:
I think the pictures are the best evidence that the civilian population who has suffered from the conflict there, which could possibly be avoided and which should not happen again.
Of course, there’s no real mention of whether Bloc MPs should be supporting terrorists, or on the Bloc’s position on Israeli civilian casualties.
Yesterday, Bloc leader Gilles Duceppe waded in on the matter, indicating that Maria Mourani would not be disciplined:
He reminded that the member of Lebanese descent had separated from the “hate speech” conveyed by the videos by sending a second email on Tuesday evening.
Satisfied with this retraction, Mr. Duceppe said that there was no question of imposing a sanction.
I guess when your MPs send out hateful emails it’s alright as long as they send out a ‘Just Kidding” email the next day.
Then again, considering Bloc MPs have marched in pro-Hamas parades it’s to be expected.
