Trapped in Suburbia…

Back on October 1st I wrote about Daryl Vernon, a blogger posting on the Green Party of Canada website, and his email to GPC candidate Rosemary Frei.

To review, in his email to Ms. Frei, where Daryl Vernon said:

I would not expand except with great care before a one-sided jewish audience, but the most publicized item from ahmedinejad was imporoperly translater as ‘wipe isr off the emap’, but the quote was not so directly aggressive, was played up by that onesided & partly deluded jewish community;

In searching the official Green Party of Canada website I also found a blog posting where Daryl said:

It would be a further travesty if we were to be so taken by the manipulative political hogwash south of our border that is driving to put Obama & his “color revolution” subverter associates in just such a place of command & control.

I updated my post based on an email from Camille Labchuk, the Press Secretary for the GPC.

However, Camille’s email was in reply to the original story on A Step to the Right regarding the Rosemary Frei email and didn’t address the blog posting on the Green Party of Canada website I found.

On the 1st I wrote back to Camille asking for clarification. I also wrote again on October 2nd, CC’ing a number of GPC brass including John Bennett, the Green Party of Canada’s Director of Communications.

On October 2nd, John Bennett replied:

Mr Gomez your questions will be addressed in due course. You are aware there is an election in progress & a leaders’ debate tonight.

I have sent a number follow-ups, but haven’t received a reply. I guess the Green Party of Canada doesn’t think its important to address Mr. Vernon’s comments.

In particular I’d like to know the following:

• What is Mr. Vernon’s position within the Green Party of Canada?
• If, as Green Party suggests, Mr. Vernon isn’t a GPC employee then why is he sending Ms. Frei emails with policy advice?
• What is the Green Party’s position or Mr. Vernon’s blog postings on the official Green Party of Canada website?
• In light of Mr. Vernon’s comments about Barack Obama and his supporters why hasn’t his comment/blog access been restricted or removed?

If the Green Party of Canada is as “progressive” as it would have us believe one has to wonder why it appears to be doing nothing to distance itself from Mr. Vernon’s remarks.

The Green Party has some explaining to do.

I guess its easier to just try and brush things under the carpet.
