One of the highlights of yesterday’s debate was Jack Layton taking Stephane Dion to task over the Liberal Party’s repeated failures to vote against the Conservatives in the house even while they were threatening to bring down the government.
It didn’t take long for the clip to start circulating online.
If you can’t do your job as the leader of the opposition I don’t know what you’re doing running for Prime Minister.
Obviously, Layton’s remark was a canned line but he brought it out at the most opportune time. Its perhaps the best score of the entire debate and it left Stephane Dion stumbling for an answer.

Layton couldn’t have staggered Dion any better than if he had actually punched Dion in the face.
I think that line is gonna be the KO and Layton moves into Stornoway.
